Outsourcing and Offshoring is for everyone but not necessarily for every service.

Outsourcing and Offshoring are the new O2 for business. But it has its own inherited problems.   There is no denial that Outsourcing and Offshoring of business services has introduced new challenges to organization in terms of cyber security. All IT models have risk, be it the traditional built and retain in house IT model or the new approach of Cloud Computing model. It’s an incorrect perception that in house IT is safer than the Cloud IT.

Outsourcing and Offshoring services could be a real cost saver and in most situation more secured and compliant, but it requires assessment for the potential risk and compliance issues.

Outsourcing or offshoring your business services does not necessarily off‐load your corporate risk to the vendor. The organization still owns and is accountable for the risk and liability. Rather than looking at it as problems, we should look at them as opportunities to build a highly skilled workforce, more responsive in terms of services for organization.

Soon Cloud services will be the default way of delivering computing resources in the future. Some of the examples are:

  1. PAAS : Platform As A Service
  2. IAAS: Infrastructure As A Service
  3. SAAS: Software As A Service
  4. Back Office services including Customer support, Accounting, Data Entry
  5. Research and development
  6. Web designing
